Design: The phone has a heat-forged aluminum unibody enclosure that optimizes performance, battery capacity, and durability. This replaces the titanium frame used in the iPhone 15 Pro and 16 Pro models to address overheating issues.
- Cooling: An internal vapor chamber, laser-welded into the aluminum unibody, moves heat away from the A19 Pro chip, allowing for better sustained performance.
- Durability: The device features Ceramic Shield 2 on the front for 3x better scratch resistance and an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare. The back of the phone is protected by Ceramic Shield, which is 4x more resistant to cracks than previous glass designs
- Display: The 6.9-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display has ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. It offers peak outdoor brightness of 3,000 nits and improved contrast.
- Camera Plateau: A redesigned, horizontal camera bump runs across the entire rear width of the phone. The “plateau” design was created to make more space for a larger battery.
- Colors: The iPhone 17 Pro Max is available in deep blue, cosmic orange, and silver finishes.
